BASIC GUIDE FOR GALAS & COMPETITIONS
Basic
Swimming Kit
-
At
least two towels (preferably three).
-
Costume
for the warm-up.
-
At
least two/three costumes depending on the number of races.
-
Goggles
plus a spare pair in case your race pair breaks.
-
Club
hat plus spare.
-
Poolside shoes – e.g. trainers or poolside flip-flops.
-
Club T-shirt (plus a spare).
-
Plain shorts or tracksuit bottoms (preferably plain black).
-
Additional extras: Club Fleece, Club T-Shirt, Tracksuit.
Food & Drink
-
Energy boosting foods as per Food & Snacks Sheet. Swimmer should ensure that
they have enough food and drink for the journey there and back (NO GLASS BOTTLES)

Drinks for the poolside in plastic bottles (NOT GLASS).
-
Reading material or personal hi-fi. (Swimmers are responsible for security and
insurance).

Money for transport i.e. coach – when provided.
Other Bits
-
Race entry cards for Open Meets or County / District / National events.

Ensure your cards are posted at the correct time.
-
Swimmers should behave in an appropriate manner at all times.

Team Managers will have responsibility for the behaviour and safety of all
swimmers during the event.

Swimmers should also ensure that where they are sitting on the coach is
left tidy and clean, i.e. crisp packets put in the bin and not left on the floor.

No swimmer is allowed to leave the poolside without the permission of a
Team Manager, and must report to the chaperone on leaving and returning.
